GWM South Africa has introduced two new models in its Haval SUV range: the updated H6 and the H6 GT Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (Phev).
The H6 GT PHEV is powered by a petrol-electric drivetrain that produces a combined 321kW and 762Nm of torque. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds. It offers a combined driving range of approximately 1,000 km using both electric and petrol power. The SUV supports electric-only driving for distances up to 180km.
The model includes a range of driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic jam assistance, and a 360-degree HD camera system. The vehicle has earned a full five-star Ancap safety rating.
The new H6 is offered with two engine options: a 2l turbo petrol producing 170kW and 380Nm, paired with a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission; and a 1.5l turbo petrol hybrid (dedicated hybrid technology) delivering 179kW and 530Nm. Both variants feature selectable drive modes, including Standard, Sport, Eco, Sand, and Snow, as well as intelligent all-wheel drive torque distribution for improved traction.
The vehicle’s technology suite includes a 14.6-inch multi-touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, voice command functionality, a head-up display, wireless charging, and advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Both the H6 and H6 GT Phev come with an extensive ownership package that includes a seven-year or 200,000 km warranty, an eight-year or 150,000km battery warranty for hybrid variants, a seven-year or 75,000 km service plan, and roadside assistance. The vehicles have 12-month or 15,000 km service intervals.
The H6 GT PHEV is priced at R799,900. The H6 range starts at R495,500 for the base 2.0T Luxury variant, with the hybrid Ultra Luxury version priced at R686,500. Both models are available at GWM dealerships nationwide.
