Springbok Women determined to topple mighty Canada

Zambia striker Rachael Kundananji says their defeat to Banyana Banyana should serve as a wake up call ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Banyana beat the Copper Queens 2-0, with goals from Bongeka Gamede and Jermaine Seoposenwe, to be crowned Three-Nations champions at Lucas Moripe Stadium yesterday.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Kundananji believes they remain on track in their preparations for the continental showpiece, but this defeat will help them address some of their shortcomings heading to Morocco.
"I think [preparations] are going well, and having these two friendly matches is an eye opener to see where we are lacking and where we should work on toward the WAFCON," said the 25-year-old.
"I feel like this was good motivation for players, knowing that losing today after doing our level best should push us to work extra hard and correct our mistakes."
The Bay FC striker believes they could have won the game had they converted their chances.
"They gave us a good game, and I think we were winning [the battle] despite missing chances, and I think we need to utilise our chances," she added.
"Because if we scored in the first half, I think we could have been talking about [the result] the other way, and not the way it eventually went."
Kundananji, who has played in Kazakhstan, Spain and now in the NWSL in the USA, says she's managed to remain consistent because of her tenacity.
"There was no good development, it's just the heart – I don't play with skills and everything, the skills just came out because I started playing with my heart.
"Later on I started learning skills and other stuff, and I just started adding things – that's why I always say, I always compete with myself and not with anybody, I never compare myself to anybody but myself," she concluded.
