We’re bringing the heat to Observatory, Cape Town, with our brand-new Nando’s Riverlands! Nestled in a sprawling 12,000m2 shopping centre, this restaurant is all about levelling up the dine-in experience—because let’s be honest, Nando’s just hits different when you’re surrounded by good vibes.
From our self-service sauce station (because PERi-PERi preferences are personal), to a spacious seating area and carefully curated lighting, sound, and staging, every detail is a feast for the eyes! And here’s the best part—there’s bottomless soft serve and soft drinks! That’s right, unlimited refills to keep the good times flowing.
KP Create teamed up with Ashanti Design Studio to bring something truly special to life. Picture this: handwoven pendant lights cascading over the centre of the space, woven divider screens, and a standout wall feature adorned with breathtaking beaded and mosaic art pieces from Spier Arts Trust. To top it off, the feature also holds a lush planter by Joe Pain, adding a fresh, green touch.
You’ll also find the vibrant artistry of some of our Hot Young Designers (HYD), including Chap Studios, Spamandla Mdunyelwa, and Bonolo Chepape. Their bold patterns shine across the space, from printed acoustic ceiling panels and fabric details by Robin Sprong to hand-painted planters by Peacock Art & Design.
Above the woven pendants, Wiid Design has worked their magic with cork acoustic features, blending function and beauty in the most seamless way. And let’s talk about the party table—a true showstopper by Kalki Ceramics, featuring handcrafted tiles that make every meal feel like a celebration.
The walls tell a story too. We commissioned South African artist Robyn Pretorius through Spier Arts Trust to create a masterpiece paying tribute to the Khoisan tribe—a powerful nod to heritage and creativity.
And because creativity is at the heart of everything we do, this was a collaboration of incredible local design talents, including Houtlander, The Urbanative, MashT, Pedersen & Lennard, Bofred, Douglas & Company, Kent & Lane, Naturalis, PlantR, and The Concrete Corporation to bring this space to life.
It’s bold. It’s beautiful. It’s uniquely Nando’s. We can’t wait for you to experience it—see you at Riverlands!
