On Monday, 11 August 2025, Rainbow Chicken released a trading update for the year ended 29 June 2025, which showed the continued success of its turnaround.
Rainbow Chicken expects its earnings per share for the year to increase by between 206% and 226% compared to the prior year.
The company’s headline earnings per share are set to grow by between 214% and 234% compared to the 2024 financial year.
The chicken producer attributed this strong growth to higher sales volumes, continued improvements in agricultural and operational performance, and lower commodity input costs.
In addition, the company saw a reduction in expenses related to load-shedding and bird flu.
“In addition, due to Rainbow’s improved profitability and the recapitalisation of the company prior to its unbundling, finance costs have reduced relative to the comparative period,” it explained.
Rainbow Chicken is expected to release its full results for the 2025 financial year on Thursday, 28 August 2025.
