Springbok Women determined to topple mighty Canada
Springbok Women captain Nolusindiso Booi said her team will enter Loftus Versfeld with excitement and determination when they face Canada at 13:30 on Saturday.
The national team is currently in Casablanca for the last phase of their preparations, with the tournament commencing on Saturday, 5 July.
Banyana will play their Group C opener against Ghana next Monday at Honneur Stadium, and Mogolola says the team is in high spirits ahead of their fixture against the Black Queens.
"We are feeling good, and we are prepared. We know what it will take to defend our title, and we will have to work as a team," said Mogolola.
"Play for one another, support each other, fight for one another. So, teamwork will win the day, unlike in tennis where you are on your own."
Mogolola missed out on the previous WAFCON, where South Africa won the championship, with her last appearance at the tournament dating back to 2018, when Banyana finished runners-up.
She says it is good to be back and appreciates the opportunity to don the green on gold on the continental stage once again.
"I'm excited and I'm looking forward to representing the country, and it’s nice to come and learn again. I also appreciate the opportunity that I got the call up again, and it’s all about working hard, that's all I can say," she added.
The African Champions will depart Casablanca on Friday and travel to their base camp in Oujda, where they will be based for their Group C journey, which includes fixtures against Tanzania and Mali.
